This was a pleasant surprise discovery for us. We were near the end of season when most places were closing when we found this, but now it'd be our go-to. The room and amenities (fridge, microwave, coffee, tv, etc) were wonderful and at check-in, Erik gave us great advice on what was still open and what hikes would be good given some upcoming foggy weather. Considering how Glacier is setup, this was also a pretty good location for us to hit both the Grinnell Glacier hike and the Highline Trail during our final 2 days there. We definitely want to come back in-season so that we can take part in some grilling, too!

What can I say? This place met and exceeded our expectations. My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely. If we ever end up in this part of the world again we would definitely stay here. The hosts were wonderful. They just recently purchased the cottages (Jan 2020) and have made some fantastic improvements to the cottages and grounds. I can only imagine how they will continue to improve the facilities. It really is a hidden gem.
The hosts Erik and Susan were very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the area to include the wildlife and local vegetation. They were a pleasure talking with. We were extremely bummed to leave.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mtn R.Woodland Park, CO031Jul 31, 2022
Great find for a spot to stay outside Glacier National Park. It is a couple blocks from the Glacier Lodge and Amtrak station and a Red Bus tour leaves from the Lodge. We stayed in one of the 13 cabins and ours had 2 rooms with a queen bed in each room. The room is very clean, nicely decorated, and has a newly appointed bathroom. Nice beds. The innkeeper provides a nice coffee/tea area with a tin of ground coffee and a selection of teas. The shelving also has various cups, mugs, silverware and plates to make eating in the room nicer. The room has a refrigerator, microwave and TV. The room is not air conditioned, but does have a small fan and you can run the heater fan without heat. We asked for and received a big box fan which really kept the room cool at night since the outside temperature cools off significantly from the daytime. The innkeeper is onsite and easily reachable for questions or to provide assistance. Parking is easy since you park right next to your cabin. There is a nice restaurant a couple doors down, a bakery next to them and the lodge with a cafe and fancy dining room a little further down the road. Just under the RR bridge is the town of East Glacier Main Street with more restaurants and gas station. The St. Mary's entrance to Glacier National Park is about 1hr up the road with the Many Glacier entry slightly further on.

There are not many choices for accommodations in East Glacier and while this place was not great, it may be the best option in the area (besides the Glacier National Park lodge which you have to book 6 months or more in advance).
The cottage looks like it was built in the 70's and still has original finishes and furniture. It is slightly larger than a typical hotel room and includes a small table with two chairs, a stuffed chair (not sure I'd want to sit in it), mini fridge and microwave, tube TV, two queen beds, and a bathroom with a tub.
My primary complaint is there is NO WIFI. The Luna restaurant next door has free wifi for when you are eating.
The cottage is clean and odor free despite the ash tray on the table suggesting that smoking is allowed. The TV has a variety of channels but is slightly green and the volume on the remote doesn't work so you have to change it on the TV. It is a bit off the main road and quiet though most of the cabins don't have a direct view of the mountains. The cottages are very close to one another but separated so at least you don't hear your neighbors through the wall. Each cabin has two plastic chairs for stting on what doubles as the front lawn and parking space. From outside you can see the mountains across the road. The beds are very basic and very hard mattresses but they don't sag to one side or the other. No pets are allowed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin T.Colorado Springs, CO254Jun 29, 2021
Jacobson's Cottages! Wow, what a treat! I can't say enough good things about Jacobson's Cottage and the owners, Eric and Susan. It was my family's first trip to Montana and Glacier National Park, and we've never felt more at home while traveling than we did with them at their cottages. By the time we left it was like we were leaving family. Sad to go but excited to come back some day! The rooms were clean, modern and the showers were HOT! The WiFi was excellent, the bedding was clean and comfortable, the amenities were environmentally conscience, and the coffee was tasty! We were in town for the Glacier Half Marathon put on by Vacation Races, but we are already planning another trip just to visit with them and explore more of the park. Eric and Susan made sure our stay was perfect. They treated me, my wife and two kids (6 & 11) like we were were family. Eric was a physical encyclopedia of information about the park and the surrounding area which helped immensely! It truly was a magnificent experience. We can't wait to return. Thank you SO much Eric and Susan at Jacobson's Cottages! Please give our love to "Sally" and "Buddy"! They deserve extra treats!
